To continue providing a reliable and secure experience, TPControl will now officially support iOS 15 and above for all future updates to the TPControl iOS app.
What’s Changing?
- The app will continue to run on older iOS versions (like iOS 12–14), but no new updates, features, or bug fixes will be released for these versions going forward.
- Important: The last version of TPControl that can be installed on iOS 14 and below is 2.7.16.74.
Any versions released after this will only be available on devices running iOS 15 or newer. - This means your app may still work, but future improvements will only be available on devices running iOS 15 or newer.
Why We’re Making This Change?
- Better Performance & Stability
Older versions of iOS — such as iOS 12 and 13 — have shown increasing instability, including crashes and compatibility issues. These versions are no longer maintained by Apple, which limits our ability to ensure a smooth and reliable experience. - Improved Security
Using the latest supported iOS versions helps us ensure TPControl runs on platforms that continue to receive Apple’s security updates. This reduces your exposure to known vulnerabilities and ensures your app interactions are more secure. - Evolving User Trends
Over 90% of active Apple devices are already running iOS 16 or later. By focusing on these widely adopted versions, we ensure our updates are
optimized for the devices most of our users actually have in their hands
today. - Faster Updates & Feature Delivery
Supporting fewer, more modern iOS versions means less time spent on
testing and compatibility work for outdated systems — allowing our team to roll out new features, bug fixes, and improvements more quickly and
efficiently.
Suggested Compatible Devices
To use the latest version of TPControl, we recommend devices that support iOS 15 or later, including:
iPhone (iOS 15+):
- iPhone 6s and 6s Plus
- iPhone SE (1st generation and newer)
- iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
- iPhone 8, X, XR, XS, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 (all models)
iPad (iPadOS 15+):
- iPad (5th generation and newer)
- iPad mini (4th generation and newer)
- iPad Air (2nd generation and newer)
- iPad Pro (all models)
If you’re unsure whether your device supports iOS 15 or higher, you can check in Settings > General > About on your iPhone or iPad.
